Items can be added to a test form from the Items screen in the Test Wizard. This article will explain how to search for and add items to your test form.
IMPORTANT: If you choose an item that is part of an item set, items set to Live in that item set are automatically added to the test.
NOTE: If a test/test form created in the Test Wizard is edited in Test Creation, only test and test form settings can be edited in the Test Wizard. Its item content and settings can no longer be edited in the Test Wizard.
TIP: Select Preview to preview your items at any time.
1. Find your items
To find an item, you can use the free text search bar to search for item names or question text content.

About item language variants
IMPORTANT: Item language variants are not available by default. If you would like item language variants enabled on your Surpass instance, contact your Surpass Customer Success Manager.
Whether an item has a valid language variant for the test form’s selected content languages is displayed in the Items screen.
Each item has a corresponding globe icon () indicating whether the item is valid for all, some, or none of the test form’s selected content languages.
Hover over the globe icon () to reveal the test form’s selected content languages. The item’s default language is listed in bold.
A green globe icon () indicates the item has a valid language variant for every content language.
An amber globe icon () indicates the item has a valid language variant for some of the content languages. The invalid language is struck-through.
A black, struck-through globe icon () indicates the item does not have any language variants and is therefore only valid for default language delivery.
Once added to the test form, the globe icons () remain visible in the test form section of the Items screen.
2. Add your items
To add an item to a test, choose your item and select Add or drag the item into the test. You can use Control and Shift to select multiple items at a time.
