Creating an item template
You can create an item template in the Templates screen. Item templates can be used to create items in HTML subjects.

1. Go to the Templates screen
To view the Templates screen, go to Item Authoring > Templates.
2. Select Item Templates
Select Item Templates to open the item templates panel.
3. Create your item template
Select Create Item Template to create a new item template.
Choose any question type from the Question Types menu and go to the Edit screen.
Creating an item set template
You can also create item set templates. If an item set is created from an item set template, all item templates in the item set are created. You cannot create individual items from item templates within an item set template. For more information, read Creating an item set.
4. Edit your item template
In the Edit screen, you can edit your item template in the same way you can edit an item. For more information about creating an item, read Creating items, Setting up items, and Using media.
Set your item template’s workflow status in the Status drop-down menu. Only item templates set to Live can be used to create items.
5. Previewing your item template
To see your item template from a candidate’s perspective, select Preview .
If you need to continue working on the item template, select Edit to return to the Edit screen.
6. Saving your item template
Select Save to save your item template to your subject.
To see additional saving options, use the Save arrow to open the Save Options menu. Select Save & Close to save the item template and return to the Templates screen. Select Save & New to save the item and create another item template.
Select Close to leave the Edit screen. If you have unsaved changes, you are prompted to either save or discard them.
