Exporting scripts from SecureMarker to a spreadsheet
All scripts in SecureMarker can be viewed and managed in the Script Review screen. This includes downloading a spreadsheet containing details on candidates’ results for all items in a script. You might want to export these details to analyse candidate performance against different marking criteria.
This article explains how to export scripts from SecureMarker.
In This Article
1. Go to the Script Review screen
To view the Script Review screen, select Script Review on the navigation bar.
NOTE: You cannot export scripts at the Marking not started and Marking in progress states.
Choose a script to export in the Candidate Scripts grid.
3. Select Export Script
Select Export Script to download the script to your device.
4. View the exported script
The export spreadsheet contains information about the selected script, including the name of the exam, the candidate’s unique alphanumeric keycode, and the mark assigned to each response in the script.
Refer to the following table for information on each column in the export spreadsheet.
Displays the available number of marks for the item or item group.
Exporting multiple scripts
NOTE: You can export a maximum of 15,000 scripts across multiple spreadsheets. Each spreadsheet can contain up to 200 scripts.
You can export multiple scripts in the Script Review screen.
To export multiple scripts, select the Export Script arrow ().
Select Export Using Wizard to open the Export Scripts wizard.
In the Qualification and Exam panels of the Export Scripts wizard, choose the qualification and exam that contain the scripts you want to confirm to Surpass. You can find a specific qualification and exam in the Search qualification/exam search bar.
In the Filter panel of the Export Scripts wizard, use the From and Until date pickers to select a date and time range in which the scripts were submitted. Select Today to export scripts submitted today. Select Filter off to reset the filter.
Choose the status of the scripts you want to export. For more information on each status in SecureMarker, read ‘About the Candidate Scripts grid’ in About the Script Review screen in SecureMarker.
Select Export Scripts to download the export spreadsheet to your device.
Viewing multiple scripts in a spreadsheet
Open the export spreadsheet from your device to view details about the exported scripts. These details include the candidate’s name and their total mark for each response.
Refer to the following table for information on each column in the spreadsheet.

Qualification
Displays the name of the qualification.
Exam
Displays the name of the exam.
Version
Displays the exam version.
Keycode
Displays the candidate’s unique alphanumeric keycode.
Score
Displays the number of marks the candidate achieved out of the total marks available for all items in a script.
Moderated
Displays TRUE if the script has been moderated.
Percent %
Displays the candidate’s mark for the script as a percentage.
Status
Displays the current status of the script.
Submitted
Displays the date and time on which the candidate submitted their script.
Imported
Displays the date on which the script was imported into SecureMarker.
Flagged
Displays TRUE if the script has been flagged for further attention. For more information, read ‘Flagging scripts’ in About the Script Review screen in SecureMarker.
VIP
Displays TRUE if the script is in VIP mode. For more information, read ‘Putting scripts in VIP Mode’ in About the Script Review screen in SecureMarker.
Displays the name of the centre at which the exam was taken.
Centre Ref
Displays the centre’s reference number.
Item ID
Displays the item’s ID number in each column header. For more information about these columns, read ‘Viewing results in your export spreadsheet’ later in this article.
Viewing results in your export spreadsheet
You can view the marks awarded to each candidate for all items in a script. Each row represents one candidate’s results for each item.
A value of 0 indicates the item was answered incorrectly. Any value higher than 0 indicates the number of marks awarded to the candidate’s response. A hyphen (–) indicates the item was not attempted or delivered.
NOTE: Non-question items are automatically assigned zero marks.
