point biserial

An item’s point biserial correlation coefficient is a special version of the Pearson R value, which measures the correlation between candidates’ performance on the item and their performance on the test form as a whole. Point biserial correlations only apply to dichotomously-scored items that only have two outcomes (for example, correct for one mark and incorrect for zero marks).
